On Monday, the Gombe State Government distributed food supplies to security agencies in the state, providing 380 bags of 25kg rice, 380 bags of 50kg sorghum, and 240 cartons of spaghetti.
Joshua Danmalam, the Information Officer from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the State, confirmed the distribution on Tuesday. Governor Muhammadu Yahaya was represented at the symbolic presentation by Executive Secretary Haruna Abdullahi.
Danmalam explained that the governor authorized the extension of this food distribution to security personnel to offer relief to officers and their families during challenging times. This initiative is part of the state government’s broader efforts to address the food shortages and alleviate the hardships faced by citizens.
He added, “The state government had previously distributed various food items across the 11 Local Government Areas through their respective chairmen. These supplies were provided by the Federal Government and the North-East Development Commission to assist in mitigating the impact of food shortages in the region.”
