LASTMA Rescues Five After Accident on Third Mainland Bridge
On Tuesday, Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) swiftly responded to an accident on the Third Mainland Bridge, involving a commercial bus and a Toyota Highlander near the University of Lagos Waterfront. The crash caused a temporary traffic disruption, but no fatalities were reported.
The Incident
The collision, which occurred as the vehicles were heading toward the Adeniji area, left five individuals injured. LASTMA’s General Manager, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, confirmed that prompt action was taken to rescue the victims. With the help of good Samaritans, the injured were quickly attended to by medical teams.
No Loss of Life
Bakare-Oki expressed relief that no lives were lost in the accident. He reassured the public that emergency protocols were followed efficiently to ensure the victims received immediate care.
Traffic Resumption
The damaged vehicles were cleared from the scene, allowing traffic flow to return to normal. Authorities emphasized the importance of road safety and urged drivers to adhere to speed limits and ensure their vehicles are in good condition before embarking on journeys.
