The Sarkin Yakin Zazzau, Rilwan Pate, tragically passed away after collapsing during an event in Zaria, Kaduna State, on Thursday. He had been at the event alongside the Emir of Zazzau, Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, when the incident occurred.
Pate, who was also a council member of the Zazzau Emirate and the councillor in charge of health, was quickly rushed to Gambo Sawaba General Hospital in Kofar Gayan, Zaria, where he was confirmed dead. The Zazzau Emirate Council later confirmed his passing, expressing deep sorrow at his death.
In a statement, the Zazzau Emirate‘s media and publicity officer, Abdullahi Kwarbai, conveyed the council’s grief, describing the deceased as a hard-working, dedicated, and very religious individual whose loss would be deeply felt. Emir Bamalli also extended his condolences to Pate’s family, acknowledging that death is part of Allah’s will and that Pate’s contributions would be sorely missed.
The passing of Alhaji Rilwanu Yahaya Pate is a significant loss to the community, and his dedication to the Zazzau Emirate will be remembered.
