Anambra State is taking significant measures to prepare for potential flooding due to the rising level of the River Niger. The government has activated 27 IDP camps and is focusing on seven local government areas at high risk: Ayamelum, Anambra East, Anambra West, Ogbaru, Ekwusigo, Ihiala, and Awka North. Governor Chukwuma Soludo emphasized that the state is working closely with the federal government and has received substantial supplies, including 24,000 bags of rice, to aid in the emergency response. Residents in vulnerable communities are already starting to evacuate.
