Ten Hag Provides Crucial Injury Update on Key Manchester United Players

Manchester United head coach, Erik Ten Hag, provided an injury update during his pre-match press conference held on Thursday, September 19, 2024. Ten Hag confirmed that two key players, Mason Mount and Rasmus Højlund, are back from injury and could feature in the upcoming Premier League match against Crystal Palace.

Højlund, 21, has been sidelined since suffering a hamstring injury in July 2024. Mason Mount, 25, has also missed the last two games due to a similar hamstring issue. Both players are now back in training and could make their return to the pitch soon.

Speaking to reporters, Ten Hag shared his thoughts on the players’ recovery:
“It’s very good news that they are back on the pitch, back in team training. We have to decide if they are fit enough to start. It’s very pleasing to have them back, especially with many games to cover in this block. They’ve completed a couple of training sessions, and we’ll see how they recover before making the final call tomorrow.”

Ten Hag also emphasized the need for caution when reintegrating injured players:
“In top football, you always push the boundaries. Injuries are sometimes unavoidable, but when you have a full squad available, it’s easier to manage the load. Last season, with the circumstances we faced, we had to overload some players. We hope to integrate them carefully this time.”

His comments highlight the balancing act of managing fitness while preparing for a busy schedule of matches ahead.
