Police Arrest Two for Uber Driver’s Murder, Assault on Sex Worker

The Delta State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of an Uber driver and the assault of a commercial sex worker in Warri.

The arrest was confirmed in a statement released on Friday by the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe.

According to police reports, the suspects hired the Uber driver’s services and invited a commercial sex worker to accompany them to a nightclub. However, after leaving the venue, they allegedly strangled and killed the driver before throwing the woman out of the vehicle.

Edafe’s statement read in part:

“We have arrested these two suspects who hired an Uber driver and also invited a commercial sex worker in Warri around December last year.

“They first took them to a nightclub and then, on their way to the supposed destination, they strangled and killed the driver and threw the girl out of the vehicle.”
