Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has officially dissolved the Transition Committees that were initially established on June 9, 2023. The committees, which were tasked with overseeing various aspects of local governance and development, had their terms extended multiple times before this latest announcement.
In a statement released on Friday, Governor Mutfwang instructed the Directors of Personnel Management across the 17 local government areas of Plateau State to assume responsibility for local government administration. This temporary arrangement will remain in place until the upcoming local government elections are conducted on October 9, 2024.

Governor Mutfwang stated, “I want to extend my gratitude to the Transition Committee Chairmen for their outstanding leadership. Their work has significantly contributed to the progress and development of our local communities. I urge them to continue offering valuable counsel and support to foster peace and unity within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and throughout Plateau State.”
The Governor also called on the former chairmen to actively engage with their constituents to ensure the PDP’s success in the forthcoming local government elections. He emphasized the importance of community involvement in securing the party’s future and achieving electoral success.
In addition, Governor Mutfwang expressed his gratitude to the residents of Plateau State for their unwavering support. He noted that the results of the PDP primaries for chairmanship and councillorship positions reflect the strong bond between the people and the party.
Governor Mutfwang reiterated his commitment to leading an inclusive, transparent, and accountable administration. He promised to continue prioritizing the needs of all Plateau State citizens and working towards the betterment of the state.
