The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has firmly stated that no individual is above the party, in response to recent remarks by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
During a press conference in Abuja on Monday, PDP National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba addressed Wike’s comments made in Port Harcourt on Saturday. Wike had warned PDP governors against interfering in the party’s affairs in Rivers State and issued a threat to “put fire in their states,” asserting his dominance over the party’s structure in the state.
Ologunagba countered Wike’s assertions by emphasizing the supremacy of the PDP as a political organization. He stated, “What I can tell you is that nobody is above this party. It is the People’s Democratic Party.”
He further elaborated that the PDP has established reconciliation and disciplinary committees to handle internal matters and would await their reports before taking further action.
