The Lagos State House of Assembly has strongly condemned the murder of Prince Kazeem Ademola Akinloye, the first son of the Ojomu of Ajiran land, Oba Tijani Akinloye. Ademola was tragically shot and stabbed to death on August 26, 2024, along Chevron Drive, Lekki.
During a session, the Assembly described the murder as unacceptable and urged Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun to urgently investigate the incident to ensure justice for the family. The House observed a minute of silence in honor of the deceased and resolved to send a condolence letter to the Ojomu royal family.
The Majority Leader, Hon. Noheem Adams, raised the issue under ‘Matters of Urgent Public Importance,’ calling for a thorough investigation. Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. Ademola Richard Kasunmu, emphasized the need for improved efficiency from security agencies. Hon. Gbolahan Yishawu (Eti-Osa 2) recalled a similar case and stressed the need to solve these crimes. Hon. Adewale Temitope (Ifako-Ijaiye I) highlighted the increasing insecurity and advocated for enhancing the state Neighbourhood Safety Corps.
Hon. Ladi Ajomale (Oshodi-Isolo II) mentioned the ongoing investigation of the late Sheriff Ishola Salami’s case. Deputy Speaker Hon. Mojisola Lasbat Meranda, who presided over the session, urged the police to enhance security at the palace to prevent further intimidation.
