Kano Hisbah Facebook Page Compromised by Hackers: Pornographic Videos Posted

The Kano State Hisbah Board has confirmed that its official Facebook page, which boasts over 82,000 followers, has been hacked. Since Wednesday, the account has been compromised, with hackers posting sensual and inappropriate content.

The breach has alarmed many followers, prompting some to report the issue to Meta, the parent company of Facebook. The Kano Hisbah Board, which is tasked with enforcing moral regulations based on Islamic law in the state, has acknowledged the situation and is actively working to restore the account.

Aminu Daurawa, the Commander General of the Kano Hisbah Board, spoke to TheCable about the incident. He urged the public to report the compromised page and confirmed that the board is addressing the issue. “Kano State Hisbah Board is aware that its Facebook page has been hacked and inappropriate things are being shared,” Daurawa stated.

The Kano Hisbah Board is renowned for its role in upholding Islamic moral standards in Kano. Its activities include the destruction of alcoholic beverages, the arrest of unmarried couples found in hotels, and the prohibition of mannequins in boutiques.

As the board works to regain control of its Facebook page, it continues to seek assistance from the public and relevant authorities to mitigate the impact of the unauthorized content.
