Kano Govt Approves ₦8.2bn for 15 Major Projects Across State
The Kano State Executive Council has approved ₦8.2 billion for the execution of 15 key projects aimed at infrastructural and economic development across the state.
Governor Abba Yusuf’s spokesperson, Sanusi Tofa, announced this after the State Executive Council meeting on Wednesday.
Key Allocations:
🔹 ₦2.7bn – Construction of classroom blocks in all 44 LGAs.
🔹 ₦2.3bn – Cost review for dualisation of major roads, including:
- Government House Roundabout
- Race Course Road
- Daula Hotel Roundabout
- Nasarawa Hospital Road
- Dawaki Road
- Lugard Road
🔹 ₦1.8bn – Remodelling of Africa House Conference Hall & consultancy services at Government House.
🔹 ₦1.2bn – Supply of diesel (AGO) and PMS for KSWB Challawa.
🔹 ₦790.7m – Settlement of KEDCO liabilities.
🔹 ₦378.7m – Payment for foodstuff supplies to boarding schools.
🔹 ₦303.6m – Printing of security documents for Ministry of Land & Physical Planning.
🔹 ₦117.3m – Establishment of Model Village in Doga, Gabasawa LGA.
🔹 ₦482.8m – Completion of solar-powered streetlights on 5km dualised roads in Dawakin Tofa.
🔹 ₦568m – Procurement of 300 motorcycles for KANRDA Extension Service & farm managers.
🔹 ₦17.3m – Phase 1 of mini-irrigation scheme development.
The Ministry of Environment has also been directed to implement Kano’s Climate Change Policy to foster a low-carbon, climate-resilient environment.
Additionally, a Project Monitoring Committee has been set up to oversee and ensure quality and timely completion of these projects.
