Heartland Takes Over from Beyond Limits for 2024-2025 NPFL Campaign: Heartland FC NPFL 2024

Beyond Limits, promoted to the NPFL at the end of last season, has lost its elite league status due to conflicts of interest. This issue, in violation of Rule B11.4 of the NPFL Framework and Rules, involves overlapping ownership between Beyond Limits and Remo Stars, another club in the NPFL.

As a result, the slot previously held by Beyond Limits has been awarded to Heartland FC, according to Rule A5.2, which governs club participation. Heartland FC, which finished 19th in the league last season, will return to the NPFL under the leadership of coach Emmanuel Amuneke.

The NPFL emphasizes that slot-buying transactions are strictly prohibited to ensure fairness and sportsmanship. A statement from the league clarified, “The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has determined that Beyond Limits Football Academy will not compete in the 2024/2025 season due to issues related to dual ownership interests.”

The statement continued, “The ownership of both Beyond Limits Football Academy and Remo Stars constitutes a breach of Rule B11.4. Consequently, the slot formerly held by Beyond Limits has been reassigned to Heartland FC, which complied with Rule A5.2 for club participation.”

The NPFL assured that no slot-buying transactions occurred, as such practices are banned by the league’s regulations. The statement affirmed, “The NPFL remains committed to maintaining a fair and competitive league. Although not every scenario is explicitly covered by the rules, the board has used its discretion to act in the best interest of the league and its stakeholders.”

The league continues to uphold high standards of professionalism and integrity in its competition.
