Bauchi Governor Bala Mohammed Slams FCT Minister Wike Over Media Outburst
Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has criticized the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, following a recent media chat where Wike allegedly took aim at the governor and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which both leaders belong to.
In a statement issued by his Media Adviser, Muhktar Gidado, Governor Mohammed described Wike’s remarks as “disjointed and bombastic,” accusing the FCT Minister of engaging in drama and divisiveness.
The statement reads: “Our attention has been drawn to the latest disjointed and bombastic media chat by Chief Nyesom Wike. As is customary with him, Wike launched into a tirade marked by contradictions, grandstanding, and shifting loyalties.”
Governor Mohammed added that while Wike’s behavior often made it difficult to discern any substantive points, he felt it necessary to address some of the misrepresentations aimed at the PDP, the platform that helped Wike rise to prominence.
He further lamented that Wike, who owed much of his political success to the PDP, was now actively undermining the party that had supported him throughout his political journey.
“Unlike Wike, who thrives on drama and divisiveness, Sen. Bala Mohammed has always viewed politics as a platform to serve the public good, not a stage for self-serving theatrics,” the statement concluded. Governor Mohammed also warned that Wike’s opportunistic behavior and erratic alliances were traits that alienated even his former supporters.
