On Tuesday, Gombe State Police Commissioner Hayatu Usman, alongside his management team, decorated eight senior officers who have been promoted. Among them was Nasiru Abdullahi, previously a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) and Divisional Police Officer at Deba Police Station, who was promoted to Assistant Commissioner of Police. The other seven officers, formerly Superintendents of Police, were promoted to Chief Superintendent of Police. They include CSP Muhammad Audu, CSP Joel Dan-Gombe, CSP Ali Madaki, CSP Abubakar Helma, CSP Ahmed Ibrahim, CSP Ajawo Yunusa Babatunde, CSP Alh. Bakari Kama, and CSP Alhassan Jimo Jami’u.
Commissioner Usman urged the officers to lead by example, uphold human rights, avoid corruption, and maintain professionalism in their new roles. He also congratulated them on behalf of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, and commended the Police Service Commission for their merit-based promotions.
The newly promoted officers expressed their gratitude and commitment to fulfilling their duties responsibly.
