Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Group, has revealed that the first batch of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), or petrol, produced at his new refinery is noticeably clearer compared to existing market petrol. During a broadcast from the refinery in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State, Dangote highlighted that this clarity reflects the higher environmental standards of the product.
Dangote emphasized that the new petrol is designed to be more eco-friendly, potentially reducing health risks associated with pollutants found in traditional petroleum products. He explained that the cleaner petrol will also help in protecting vehicle engines from the damage typically caused by lower-quality fuel available in the market.
“This is the sample of the petrol. You see it as a different color but that is the real deal. You are now going to have a good and real product,” Dangote stated.
In addition to petrol, Dangote also discussed the diesel produced at the refinery, noting that it is a Euro-5 diesel with less than 10 parts per million (PPM) of sulfur. He pointed out that this high-quality diesel will contribute to longer-lasting engines and generators.
“This is called Euro-5 diesel. It contains less than 10 parts per million (PPM) of sulfur. This will help vehicles, engines, and generators last longer,” Dangote said.
He stressed that the development marks a significant advancement in public health and environmental safety, declaring, “The health of the people and the environment will not be compromised. This is the real deal.”
