Chelsea Set to Miss Out as Al Ahli Agree to Sign Victor Osimhen for €80M

Chelsea’s pursuit of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has taken a significant hit, with the Super Eagles forward nearing a high-profile transfer to Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli. The deal, reportedly valued at £67.3 million (€80 million), is set to see Osimhen leave Napoli for Al Ahli, who have moved decisively to secure the striker’s services.

According to Sky Sports, Al Ahli has emerged as the frontrunner in the race for Osimhen, surpassing Chelsea with an attractive offer. The Saudi Arabian club is prepared to offer the 26-year-old a lucrative four-year contract, worth approximately £33.6 million (€40 million) per season, translating to about £646,154 per week. This deal is structured to be tax-free and includes a release clause, further sweetening the offer.

Osimhen is scheduled to undergo a medical examination with Al Ahli on Friday, a key step before finalizing the transfer. This move aligns with Napoli’s preference for Osimhen’s destination, reflecting the club’s strategic decision-making in the transfer market.

In response to Osimhen’s impending departure, Napoli has already moved to secure a replacement. Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku has been acquired by Napoli in a €30 million deal, filling the void left by Osimhen’s exit.

The transfer marks a pivotal moment in the ongoing football transfer saga, with Chelsea missing out on a key target while Al Ahli strengthens its squad with a significant acquisition.
