The renowned artist, who passed away on July 30, 2024, at the age of 72, died suddenly after collapsing at an event honoring Dr. Stella Okoli, the Managing Director of Emzor Pharmaceuticals.
Onwenu’s unexpected demise occurred at Reddington Hospital in Ikeja, where she was rushed following the incident. Her funeral service is set to take place at the Fountain of Life Church in Ilupeju, Lagos. According to the family, the Service of Songs will begin at 10:00 AM and continue until noon. Following this, a private burial will be held between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM at a vault in Ikoyi, as detailed in a funeral flyer released by the family.
