AFCON 2025: Super Eagles Player List for Upcoming Benin Republic Match

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have officially commenced their preparations for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches with the opening of their training camp in Uyo. The squad is gearing up for their crucial fixtures against Benin Republic and Rwanda.

The camp saw the arrival of several key players, including team captain William Troost-Ekong, Ademola Lookman, Taiwo Awoniyi, and Ola Aina, who were among the first to join the squad. On Monday morning, additional players such as Olisa Ndah, Semi Ajayi, and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru also reported to camp, further strengthening the team’s preparations.

Super Eagles caretaker manager Augustine Eguavoen has called up a total of 23 players for the upcoming qualifiers. The team will face Benin Republic on Saturday, September 6, 2024, and will then travel to Kigali to play against Rwanda on Tuesday, September 9, 2024.

As the camp continues, the remaining players are expected to join the squad before the team finalizes its preparations for the critical matches. The upcoming games are pivotal as Nigeria seeks to secure a place in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
