Vice President Kashim Shettima Attends Funeral of Late Borno Commissioner: VP Shettima Leads Mourners at Funeral of Zulum’s Late Commissioner

On Monday, Vice President Kashim Shettima joined Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, along with other dignitaries, associates, and family members, to attend the funeral of Alhaji Ahmed Ali Ahmed, the late Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development in Borno State. The funeral service took place in Maiduguri.

The funeral prayer was conducted by the Chief Imam of Borno, Imam Laisu Ibrahim. Alhaji Ahmed, aged 42, passed away in his sleep at his residence in Maiduguri, leaving behind a wife, two children, an elderly mother, and numerous siblings.

Among the dignitaries present were:

  • Ali Bukar Dalori, APC Deputy National Chairman
  • Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan
  • Members of the House of Representatives
  • Bello Ayuba, Borno APC Chairman
  • Members of the Borno State House of Assembly

The Shehu of Borno, Abubakar Umar Garbai Elkanemi, led the Borno Emirate Council, including the Waziri of Borno and Mutawali Shettima. The ceremony was also attended by members of the Borno State Executive Council, led by Alhaji Bukar Tijani, Secretary to the Borno State Government, as well as various senior officials and members of the political class.

The untimely death of the late Commissioner has evoked widespread sympathy. Many have taken to social media to express their condolences, describing him as a generous, humble philanthropist and a committed leader. His passing has left a significant void, and those who knew him have remarked on the difficulty of filling the gap created by his loss.
