UEFA has announced a reduction in the maximum prices that clubs can charge for away tickets in Europe’s three major men’s club competitions this season. The new price caps are set at 60 euros for Champions League games, 40 euros for Europa League matches, and 20 euros for Conference League fixtures. These caps apply exclusively to visiting fans.
Starting next season, further reductions will be implemented, lowering the maximum price for Champions League away tickets to 50 euros and Europa League tickets to 35 euros. These changes are part of UEFA’s broader initiative to improve the matchday experience for fans and ensure football remains inclusive, especially recognizing the dedication of traveling supporters.
This isn’t the first time UEFA has introduced price caps. In the 2019-20 season, the maximum prices were 70 euros for the Champions League and 45 euros for the Europa League. The current adjustments respond to previous seasons where fans protested against high away ticket prices.
UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin highlighted that these changes reflect UEFA’s commitment to making football more fan-friendly, emphasizing the importance of valuing and recognizing supporters who travel across Europe to follow their teams.
