The Nigerian Army’s 6 Brigade has made notable arrests and discoveries in recent operations in Taraba State:
- Arrest of Suspected Informant:
- Date: September 6, 2024
- Suspect: Markus Grace
- Location: Sondi Village, Wukari Local Government Area (LGA)
- Details: Grace was apprehended following an intelligence-led operation. She is suspected of aiding kidnappers and is reported to be the girlfriend of Chen, a notorious kidnapper known for terrorizing the area. Grace is currently in custody for further investigation.
- Discovery During Routine Patrol:
- Date: Late hours of September 5, 2024
- Location: Bantaje town, Wukari LGA
- Incident: During a stop-and-search patrol, troops flagged down a suspicious Blue Toyota Yaris vehicle (Registration Number: Taraba KLD 652 XA). The driver abandoned the vehicle and fled into the bushes.
- Findings: A search of the abandoned vehicle revealed:
- An AK-47 rifle
- An AK-47 magazine
- Two Identity Cards of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Mutum Biyu Branch of Gassol LGA, Taraba State, bearing the names Isa Ibrahim and Mallam Isa Tukura.
The 6 Brigade continues its investigation to trace and arrest the suspects involved and to determine the connection between the identity cards and criminal activities.
