PDP Extends Condolences to Oyo Governor Over Brother’s Death

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has extended its condolences to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde following the death of his elder brother, Mr. Sunday Makinde. In a statement issued on Friday by PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, the party expressed that both the nation and Oyo State had lost a valuable individual. Ologunagba described the deceased as a humble, brilliant, and ingenious professional who was deeply committed to the progress and development of Oyo State and Nigeria.

He highlighted Sunday Makinde’s vision, practical ideas, and unwavering support to his brother, Governor Seyi Makinde, noting that he was a dependable pillar and a counselor in his brother’s service to the people of Oyo State. Ologunagba also expressed the party’s deep sorrow over the loss, particularly at a time when the deceased’s skills and experience were greatly needed.

The PDP sent its prayers to Governor Seyi Makinde, the widow of Sunday Makinde, and the entire Makinde family, offering strength and support during this period of grief. The party also prayed for the peaceful repose of Sunday Makinde’s soul and for his family to have the fortitude to bear the loss.

Earlier reports confirmed that the deceased passed away on Friday at the age of 65, according to a statement from the Oyo State government.
