The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has issued a warning regarding the activities of Christ Mercy Land Deliverance Ministries, led by Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin. According to NAFDAC, the ministry is using the agency’s name to mislead the public with unregistered products.
In a statement released on Sunday, NAFDAC’s Director General, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, clarified that none of the Miracle Water, Miracle Soap, or other products promoted by the ministry are registered with the agency. The ministry, based in Delta State, has been accused of advertising these products as having healing properties and falsely claiming they are NAFDAC-approved.
The statement details how NAFDAC received petitions about the ministry’s Miracle Water and Soap, which were advertised as having the ability to heal various ailments, including barrenness. The agency’s investigation revealed that these products were not registered and that the ministry had used NAFDAC’s name fraudulently.
NAFDAC’s investigation team made several attempts to engage with the ministry officials but faced resistance and lack of cooperation. The agency also discovered that the ministry had allegedly entered into a production contract with Globod Table Water, a local factory, without NAFDAC’s knowledge. In response, NAFDAC has sealed the Globod Table Water factory to prevent further production and sale of these unregistered products.
The agency has warned the public to avoid purchasing or using any products marketed by Christ Mercy Land Deliverance Ministries and assured that it will continue to investigate and take necessary action to protect public health.
NAFDAC emphasized that it relies on scientific evidence and regulatory standards to approve products and will not tolerate the illegal production and marketing of unwholesome goods.
