Ex-Galatasaray Coach Highlights Osimhen’s Weaknesses

Victor Osimhen has been a key player for Galatasaray this season, but his struggles with offside calls have drawn criticism.

Former Galatasaray coach and HT Spor commentator Mustafa Denizli highlighted a key flaw in Osimhen’s game, noting that while the Nigerian striker excels in speed and strength, his offside issues stem from poor perimeter control rather than timing mistakes.

Denizli explained that Osimhen’s pace allows him to recover quickly, but his urgency to score weakens his positional awareness, leading to frequent offside calls.

In the current Turkish Super Lig season, Osimhen has been caught offside 20 times in 14 matches, with six of his goals disallowed. Only Samsunspor’s Marius Mouandilmadji (27) and Eyüpspor’s Mame Thiam (21) have more offside calls.

Despite this, Osimhen remains a vital attacking force for Galatasaray, with hopes that he can refine his positioning and improve his goal-scoring efficiency.
