Defence Headquarters Reports Significant Achievements in Anti-Terrorism Operations

In a statement released on Friday, the Defence Headquarters announced notable progress in its ongoing battle against terrorism and criminal activities. According to the statement, the military successfully neutralized 152 terrorists and apprehended 109 individuals during the past week.

The military also reported the dismantling of key strongholds belonging to two notorious terrorist leaders. The Sadiku enclave, located in Tsora Hill within the Safana Local Government Area of Katsina State, and the Yusuf enclave, situated in Yadi Forest in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State, were both targeted and dismantled in recent operations.

Director of Media Operations, Edward Buba, emphasized that these achievements are part of the military’s ongoing efforts to eradicate criminal factions and maintain security across the country. “The war against terrorists, insurgents, and violent extremists continues with unwavering determination. Troops are actively engaged in combatting these threats and are making significant strides towards the goal of eliminating all terrorist elements,” Buba stated.

He detailed that the military’s operations included surgical strikes against prominent terrorist commanders, resulting in the destruction of their strongholds. Buba highlighted the importance of these operations in disrupting the terrorists’ activities and denying them the freedom to operate.

Additionally, the military conducted operations targeting crude oil theft, leading to the recovery of products valued at ₦795 million. This underscores the armed forces’ commitment to addressing various forms of criminality beyond terrorism.

Buba called on citizens to support the military’s efforts in combating insecurity and urged them to assist in the fight against terrorism and criminal activities. The Defence Headquarters continues to adapt and improve its strategies to effectively address the evolving threats posed by these criminal groups.
