Donald Trump Launches New Cryptocurrency Platform
In a separate development, former U.S. President Donald Trump has ventured into the cryptocurrency space with the launch of World Liberty Financial, a new decentralized finance (DeFi) platform. Despite a recent alleged assassination attempt at his West Palm Beach golf club, the launch proceeded as planned on Monday.
World Liberty Financial aims to leverage DeFi technology, allowing users to lend and borrow cryptocurrencies without traditional banks. The platform will focus on stablecoins, which are digital currencies backed by traditional fiat currencies, primarily the U.S. dollar.
Trump Jr. described the project as “the start of a financial revolution,” during the launch event streamed on X.com, highlighting the platform’s ambition to transform the digital finance landscape.
