Four Killed in Niger Road Crash

A tragic road crash occurred in Niger State on Monday, February 3, 2025, along the Agaie-Lapai road. The accident involved three trucks, including one that was transporting cattle and goats. The crash, caused by overspeeding and wrong overtaking, resulted in a head-on collision.

The crash claimed the lives of four people—two died instantly, while two others succumbed to their injuries in the hospital. In addition, 15 cows and more than 20 goats were killed. Thirteen individuals were injured and rushed to Agaie General Hospital for treatment.

The Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA), led by Director-General Abdullahi Baba-Arah, confirmed the incident and coordinated the rescue operation, with assistance from volunteers. The agency expressed concern over the fatal nature of the crash and emphasized the need for greater caution on the roads.
