Kelechi Madugba, a former acting state chairman of the Labour Party in Abia State, has strongly refuted claims that he sponsors the activities of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB). In a statement released to South East Punch, he labeled the allegations as false, baseless, and the work of his political opponents. Madugba denied any association with IPOB, stating that he has never interacted with its members.
Madugba, a successful businessman and former candidate for the House of Representatives, further emphasized his commitment to the development of Nigeria, highlighting his past contributions as a community builder and a political leader. He also published his bank account details to demonstrate that no funds from his accounts have been used to support a separatist movement like IPOB in the last seven years.
The former political leader urged the public to ignore and dismiss the defamatory publication, stating that he has instructed his legal team to pursue legal action for damages. Madugba also reiterated his dedication to a united Nigeria and rejected the claims aimed at tarnishing his reputation.
