In Lagos State, a man has been detained by the police for allegedly killing his neighbor, Gloria, and her son following a dispute over environmental sanitation. The tragic incident occurred on the night of September 15, 2024, around 10:50 p.m. in the Lekki area.
According to Lagos State Police Command Spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the suspect was reported to have killed the victims following an argument related to cleaning the environment. The suspect reportedly placed the bodies in a large sack, intending to dispose of them. However, the crime was discovered when other neighbors alerted the police.
Detectives from the Elemoro division swiftly responded to the report, arrested the suspect, and recovered the bodies. The deceased have been taken to Epe General Hospital for autopsy and preservation.
The police are currently investigating the case to determine the exact methods used in the crime and to gather further details. The suspect remains in custody as authorities continue to piece together the events surrounding this violent act.
