The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kaduna State has issued a stern warning to bandits and criminal elements operating in the region, urging them to repent or face the consequences of their actions. The warning was delivered by the newly appointed Commandant of the NSCDC Kaduna Command, Mr. Nuhu Muhammad, during a visit by the acting Zonal Commander, NSCDC Zone B, Mr. Amos Abiodun, on Friday in Kaduna.
Muhammad expressed the Corps’ resolve to restore peace and stability in the state, calling on criminals to abandon their nefarious activities and become law-abiding citizens. “Criminals disturbing the peace and stability of the state should repent from their nefarious attitudes and be good citizens, or face the consequences of their criminal behaviours,” Muhammad said.
NSCDC’s Mandate and Commitment to Security
The commandant highlighted the core mandate of the NSCDC as a security agency focused on protecting lives, property, and safeguarding critical national assets and infrastructure. He assured the people of Kaduna that the Corps is fully committed to fulfilling these responsibilities.
Muhammad stressed that the NSCDC would pursue its mandates with full force and determination. He called on residents of the state to cooperate with security forces by providing valuable information about suspected criminals in their communities. Such collaboration, he emphasized, is vital in ensuring swift and effective action against criminal activities.
Assurance of Safety for Kaduna Residents
Reassuring residents of their safety, the commandant urged them to remain calm and confident in the security measures being implemented across the state. “They should go to their beds and sleep with their two eyes closed,” Muhammad said, adding that NSCDC personnel had been deployed across all areas of Kaduna to protect against possible threats.
He also vowed that the NSCDC, in collaboration with other security agencies, would work tirelessly to eliminate criminal activities in the state. “We are working in synergy with sister security agencies to ensure the elimination of all criminal elements in Kaduna,” Muhammad said, reaffirming the Corps’ dedication to restoring peace.
Support from NSCDC Zonal Command
In his remarks, the acting Zonal Commander, Mr. Amos Abiodun, pledged full support for the new state commandant. He also charged the NSCDC personnel in Kaduna to perform their duties diligently and without bias, stressing the importance of professionalism in safeguarding the state.
As part of ongoing efforts to combat crime and terrorism, the NSCDC has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of Kaduna residents, urging all citizens to report any suspicious activities to security agencies for prompt action.
