Ogun State Government Launches Sensitization Campaign to Boost Public School Enrollment

The Ogun State Government, led by Commissioner for Education Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, has initiated a statewide sensitization campaign aimed at increasing enrollment in public schools. The campaign, held in markets and motor parks across Ijebu-Ode, Sagamu, Ilaro, and Abeokuta, emphasizes the state’s commitment to providing quality education.

Prof. Arigbabu highlighted recent upgrades to school facilities and the recruitment of qualified teachers to enhance the learning environment. He urged parents and guardians to register their children for the 2024/2025 academic session, focusing on free registration for pre-nursery, nursery, and primary one classes.

The campaign also includes a call for parents to monitor their children’s academic and moral progress and to take advantage of the improved educational infrastructure, which includes modern classrooms, laboratories, and computer rooms.

The Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Oluwatosin Oloko, and Executive Secretary of the State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Mikail Lawal, also encouraged parents to foster discipline and set good examples for their children.
