In an official statement released on Saturday, Auwal Dankode, a native of Kano, was honored by the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company (NAHCO) at their headquarters at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos. Dankode was recognized for his exceptional display of transparency and integrity, marking a significant moment in his career.
Last Wednesday, while on duty with his colleagues cleaning an Egypt Air MS 878 flight at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, Dankode made a remarkable discovery. He found a substantial amount of cash left behind by a passenger in seat No. 25H. Without hesitation, Dankode handed the money over to the airline’s Station Manager, setting an example of honesty in a situation that might have tempted others.
NAHCO’s Group Managing Director and CEO, Indranil Gupta, commended Dankode for embodying the core values of the company. In recognition of his honesty, Gupta announced several rewards, including a substantial cash prize, an instant promotion, and a prestigious appointment as the NAHCO Brand Ambassador.
