Sir Dan Igbokwubili, the Chief Security Officer (CSO) of Obosi community in Idemili North Local Government Area, Anambra State, narrowly escaped an assassination attempt by suspected assassins who ambushed him on the road. The attackers set his private vehicle on fire after riddling it with bullets.
Incident Overview: On August 28, 2024, Sir Dan Igbokwubili, an ex-police officer appointed as CSO by the traditional ruler of Obosi, Igwe Chidubem Iweka (Eze Iweka III), was targeted by assassins while driving home. The attackers laid an ambush, opened fire on Igbokwubili’s vehicle, and subsequently set it ablaze.
Escape and Injury: During the attack, Igbokwubili fell to the ground and pretended to be dead. After regaining consciousness, he fled the scene.
