The Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC) expressed confidence on Monday that Benue State is set to become a crucial player in Nigeria’s export sector, given its rich agricultural potential.
Barr. Akutah Ukeyima, Executive Secretary of the NSC, highlighted this potential during a stakeholders’ workshop on export product packaging held in Benue State. He emphasized the state’s abundant natural resources and agricultural assets, including yam, cassava, rice, and livestock, which position it as a significant contributor to Nigeria’s export landscape.
Ukeyima underscored the importance of addressing packaging challenges to fully leverage Benue’s export potential. “Packaging is more than just wrapping products; it is a vital component of the export process. Effective packaging protects product integrity, ensures compliance with international standards, and boosts marketability,” he said.
