Enugu APC Crisis Escalates as NWC-Backed Faction Suspends 20 Members

The internal conflict within the Enugu State chapter of the APC has deepened as the faction led by Ugochukwu Agballah announced the suspension of 20 members for gross indiscipline and blatant disregard for the party’s constitution. This move comes in response to a recent suspension of Agballah and other party officials by a rival faction led by Alphonsus Nwafor, who has been serving as the acting chairman.

Factional Meeting and Key Attendees

The Agballah-led faction held a stakeholders’ meeting at the party’s secretariat on Saturday to address the escalating situation. During the meeting, they declared the suspension of all members involved in the earlier suspension action by the Nwafor faction.

The meeting was attended by prominent party figures, including Chief Emma Eneukwu, Deputy National Chairman of the APC (South); Chief Uche Nnaji, Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology; Senator Chukwuka Utazi; and Ugochukwu Agballah himself.
