Vlahovic Leads Juventus to Second Consecutive Serie A Victory

Dusan Vlahovic scored twice as Juventus secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Verona on Monday, marking their second straight win to start the Serie A season. This result follows their 3-0 triumph over Como in their season opener, making Juventus the only team with a perfect record after two matches and placing them at the top of the early league table.

Juventus, who are aiming to win their first Scudetto since the 2019/20 season, have shown a strong start under new head coach Thiago Motta. Motta stepped in after Massimiliano Allegri’s departure, which came in the wake of Allegri’s controversial remarks following Juventus’s Italian Cup final win in May.

Last season, Juventus finished third in Serie A, their highest position in four years. With Motta at the helm, the team appears poised to challenge for the title.

In their match against Verona, Vlahovic opened the scoring just before the half-hour mark. The second goal came from 21-year-old Nicolo Savona, who scored with a header from Samuel Mbangula’s cross. Mbangula, who was promoted from the youth ranks, has already made a significant impact with one goal and two assists in his first two senior games.

Vlahovic sealed the victory with a penalty eight minutes into the second half. Juventus’s impressive start to the season sets them up for a critical test when they host Roma on Sunday, a match that will likely be their toughest challenge in the early weeks of the campaign.
